Book Review: Lifesigns

Lifesigns: Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity and Miracles, Alex Marcoux, Littleton, CO: Jenness, 2012, 224 pp

In her new book, Lifesigns, Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity and Miracles, Alex Marcoux tackles a mysterious, intriguing, and sometimes frustrating topic. All of us have experienced signs from the Universe – although many people choose to call them, “coincidences” – but interpreting these experiences is another matter. Ms. Marcoux, however, suggests that we can do just that, developing a sort of two-way communication with the Universe that will guide us every step of the way.

In the introduction of Lifesigns, the author writes:

“What if we knew the Universe was giving us messages through synchronistic, serendipitous, or even unexplainable events? What if all we needed to do was develop a language with the Universe to interpret what Source is telling us? Wouldn’t we pay more attention and view life with awe and wonder if we could identify the signs as they emerge in our lives? Wouldn’t life become easier and richer?”

Yes, indeed, life would become easier and richer if we could converse with the Universe, and my life has also become richer for reading this excellent book. In Lifesigns, Ms. Marcoux tells us not only how to interpret these signs from the Universe, but how to call for the signs. By doing this, you truly become part of the process. There have been so many times in my life when I’ve been overwhelmed by synchronicities, with no way to interpret them, that I felt I was going crazy. Next time that happens, I will refer to this book.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I highly recommend Lifesigns: Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity and Miracles. This is the best book about interpreting synchronicities that I have ever read!

Acceptance Opens the Gateway to Miracles

It’s hard to accept something that doesn’t go according to our plans or something that is unpleasant in our lives. We tend to think that if we accept something, this means that we approve of it. Worse, it means that it will never change.

But acceptance does not mean that you are just a passive doormat to life. It simply means that you accept what has just happened because it has happened—it is reality—then you change what is within your power to change it. It is insanity to fight, deny, and struggle against reality.

I listened to a recent lecture by Eckhart Tolle on acceptance. Tolle says to accept everything that happens to you as if you had chosen it. He said, “First accept. Then change it.”

Bringing Yourself into Alignment with Unpleasant Events

Abraham, the nonphysical entity who speaks through Esther Hicks, says that we must bring ourselves into alignment with seeming misfortunes. Otherwise, we will be out of alignment with life and, by extension, with the object(s) of our desires.

But how do you bring yourself to accept the unacceptable?
One way to do this is to practice non-reaction. Just don’t react to a curve in your plans.

And for God’s sake don’t let your mind start chattering away. If you’re not careful, your mind will take control and really ruin any chance you ever had at serenity (and at manifesting your desires).
So before that happens, acknowledge that this is all part of God’s master plan. Then recite this Bible verse:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God—Romans 8:28

I believe that this Bible verse is speaking of being in alignment with all events of life. It means that by immediately accepting all that happens to you, everything—even what seems to be horrible incidents—will work out for good.
And what’s the alternative?

The alternative is being out of alignment with life, which will cause all things not to work out very well.
It’s your choice.

Miracles are Natural—and YOU Create Them

Most of us think of miracles as something that God give us..

- That if we’re REAL good, God will give us something good

- That if we just pray hard enough, and bug him enough, he will give us the subject of our prayers

- That if we just submit to his will, he will give us our dreams.

Well, that’s not exactly the way it works. God (or the Universe, or “the Force”) is not outside of you. It is inside of you. It is a part of you. As such you create—or co-create—the miracles in your life. If you give up the awesome power that you have as the co-creator of your miracles, you will have very few miracles in your life. Sorry :(

This idea that God is outside of us—“up there,” standing in judgment of us, deciding who gets the candy and who gets the coal—was invented by humans who created God by human standards. In our human experience, a leader metes out rewards and punishments. Therefore, God (the ultimate leader) must rule by the same standards.

But God is inside of us. We are divinity and co-rulers of the natural world.

Remember…when the disciples asked Jesus where God’s kingdom was, Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is within you.” (KJV Luke 17:21)

Jesus also said:

“I shall give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (KJV Matt. 16:18-19)

It is time that we all recognize how powerful we really are. We are divinity. We are co-creators. We are miracle workers.

We, and our heavenly father, are ONE.
