Happy New Year 2012

Happy New Year 2012!

This is the year that the Mayan's spoke of. No, it doesn't mean that the end of the world is coming. Rather, it means that a new era of peace will reign--a new earth.

Can't you see the signs of it already? The Occupy Wall Street is now worldwide. The Arab Spring toppled its dictraitorous (I just made up this word) leaders. A couple of days ago, 500,000 Syian protestors took to the streets, protesting the unfair policies of their ruler. People are awakening. They are telling their governments and their dictators...

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

The needs of the people should never be subservient to the selfish needs of the governments!

People MATTER.

Indeed, people and love is the only thing that really matters.

So as you protest for freedom and equality in 2012 and beyond, remember this what Margaret Meade said:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

The Power of Archangel Michael to Comfort You

If you need protection, comfort, and even guidance…you might want to call on Archangel Michael. He does not mess around, as I found out recently.
I have never been one to pray to angels, much less Archangels. But desperate situations lead to desperate measures.

Earlier this month, a controversial bill was passed and will soon be signed by President Obama. This bill is called the National Defense Authorization Act and it really destroys American’s Bill of Rights. For instance, this allows for the possibility that Americans can be “indefinitely detained” if they are expected of terrorist activities, associating with terrorists, or even committing a “belligerent act” against the United States.
Besides the fact that this bill will deny Americans expected of such crimes the right to face their accusers and the right of a speedy trial, the language is so broad that it could include average protestors or anyone who disagrees with the United States’ policies. (I have read, in fact, that the U.S. has defined protestors as “low level terrorists.”)

Well, I got really upset and started obsessing about what this bill could mean for this country and the world. I started imagining the United States turning into Nazi Germany. I imagined them busting into my house in the middle of the night and arresting me for my belief that all men and women are created equal and have certain inalienable rights. As I’m a writer, I have a vivid imagination, and I could actually feel myself and others being rounded up and sent to detention centers (concentration camps) and even death camps.
Of course, I was also reading all the online articles about this subject and watching all the scary YouTube videos which even added to my fear.
In my mind, this horrible incarceration and death of American citizens was a done deal, and I was scared to death. My fear was so great, in fact, that I actually considered suicide.

Archangel Michael to the Rescue

Instead of killing myself (or going totally insane) I remember something that I had recently read about Archangel Michael by Doreen Virtue. This Archangel is the head angel and sits on the right side of God. He is the warrior angel and is the one that is said to have thrown Lucifer out of God’s kingdom.

Archangel is frequently pictured with a sword and a shield, signifying both his role as a warrior and as a protector, but as one that cuts the bonds of anything that no longer serves you (such as fear). But you can also call on Archangel Michael for help in any situation. Apparently, he is the “all purpose” Archangel.

So I figured I would pray to him. I prayed that he would bring peace to the world and that he would bring me peace. I asked him to cut my bonds of fear. I asked him to calm me down.
Oh my GOD!

The next day, the woman who had been desperate and suicidal (me) woke up feeling “the peace that passeth all understanding,” as the bible says. This has been several days ago, and I STILL feel totally peaceful. All of those feelings and mental pictures of doom and gloom are entirely gone. I know that God has everything under control. I know none of what I visualized will happen.
So if you are ever upset or scared, call on Archangel Michael. He will help you. Trust me.

Watch my video below for a little more explanation on my experience.

Do you have any experiences with Archangel Michael you'd like to share?

Book Review: Adventure in Everything

Adventure in Everything. Matthew Walker. Carlsbad, CA: Hay House, Inc., 2011, 205 pp.

In Adventure in Everything, Matthew Walker writes:

“The purpose of this book is the significance of adventure and how pursuing some aspect of it in everything you do will help you attain the quality of life that has just been described.”

After reading this book, I would say that Walker succeeds in this. Drawing on his experiences as a mountain climber, Walker shows us how we can take what he learned about his breathtaking adventures and apply them to our own life. But being the teacher that he is, Walker doesn’t just instruct us in how to have Adventure in Everything and then let us go. Rather, he includes detailed instructions in each chapter (homework, if you will) that shows us how to implement these techniques.

At only 205 pages, this book can be read in one sitting. But its teaching can inspire you forever. I highly recommend Adventure in Everything.

Use the link below and order it for a Christmas gift for yourself or a loved one this year.

The publisher has provided me with a copy of this book for review purposes. My opinions are my own and Hay House has not paid me for writing a positive book review.

Add These to Your Christmas Shopping List

Here’s some products that I have added to my Christmas shopping list. If you are ordering from Amazon this Christmas, you only have 5 more days to order if you want to guarantee delivery before Christmas. Please order though the links below and support my blog! MERRY CHRISTMAS

KINDLE FIRE

The Kindle Fire is a combination of the Kindle reader and an iPad, only much cheaper. With this product, I can instantly download zillions of books and search the web. Awesome!

EMPOWERING WOMEN: EVERY WOMAN’S GUIDE TO SUCCESSFUL LIVING

I have never heard of this book by Louise Hay, but it seems like something I’d like to read!

HOPE: A GUIDE TO SACRED ACTIVISM

As I am becoming more aware of the disintegration of human rights in our world, I’ve become more interested in becoming a social/political activist (this from a woman who spent most of my life feeling that nothing I could do would matter). Anthony Harvey has written this book about sacred activism (a term which he coined). I saw him interviewed by Lilou Mace and knew that I had to purchase this book. Apparently, he espoused a way of being that bridges both the “I’m above it and the world is totally my perception and I will go to hell if I participate in worldly stuff crowd” and the “I don’t care what it is, I need to protest it with hate and violence crowd.”

This is a book that I need to read and, perhaps, you should read it also. (Please watch theYouTube video of Harvey’s interview below and then order the book). With sacred activism, we may be able to transform the world!

Full Lunar Eclipse Tomorrow—Last One Until 2014

There will be a full lunar eclipse tomorrow, 12/10/11, at 4:45 am Pacific Time. At this time, the full Moon will appear to be burnt orange in color. The total lunar eclipse will last from 6:05 a.m. until 6:57 a.m. (PT) where the full moon will be totally darkened. If you want to see it, you should put it on your calendar. This is the least full lunar eclipse until 2014.
If you are into astrology, you must be asking what this full Moon lunar eclipse means for you. Well, that depends upon your astrology chart. Any eclipse—solar or lunar, partial or full—adds power to the planets. An eclipse of the Moon, however, affects people on a personal level.

I expect this full Moon lunar eclipse on December 10, 2011to be a doozy for me.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and Me
In astrological terms, when the Moon is full this means that the Sun and Moon are in opposition. Generally, during this time the masculine (Sun) and feminine (Moon) are in conflict.

I was born during a full Moon (go figure) with a Sagittarius Sun and a Gemini Moon. The full Moon lunar eclipse, therefore, is mimicking the condition that was present at my birth (minus the lunar eclipse).
Moreover, my Sun is in my 5th house (of creativity, gambling, children, etc) and the Moon is in my 11th house (of friends, hopes, and wishes). I expect, therefore, that there will be tension between my creativity and my hopes and wishes. As I have recently gone to full time writing, this is the area in which I expect this stress to play out. For instance, my creativity may not fulfill my hopes and wishes.

Whatever happens, I know it should be interesting!
Do you have any experience weathering a full Moon lunar eclipse?

Mercury Retrograde Strikes Again

Mercury is still retrograde, and I should have been more careful with my computer documents.
Last night, I had a computer virus that forced me to restore my computer to an earlier date. The instructions to do so said that my documents would not be disturbed. Boy was it wrong. I lost all but my most recent documents. This means that I lost my book that I had almost completed writing!

My mom was an astrologer and I know I lot about astrology. Therefore, I should have known something like this could happen and I should have saved my important documents elsewhere.
Mercury rules communications, technology, and mechanics of all kinds. When Mercury goes retrograde, all of these matters are confused. Thus, you can expect confusion in appointments, computer glitches, and even transportation breakdowns.

How retrograde Mercury impacts you depends upon the sign it is in and which house in your chart it is traveling.
Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius

Right now, Mercury is retrograde in Sagittarius. I have a Sagittarius Sun with a Gemini Moon. As my 6th house is Sagittarius, Mercury retrograding here means that my daily work would be impacted in some way. It is also opposite my 12th house, the house of solitude, so this would impact the work that I do alone.

So, the moral of this story is:

Even though you know astrology doesn’t mean that you necessarily pay attention to its warnings!

Do you have any stories about how this, or any other Mercury Retrograde, period has affected you?

Book Review: Shift Happens!

Shift Happens! Robert Holden, Ph.D. Carlsbad, CA: Hay House, 2011, 268 pp.

In the introduction of his book, Shift Happens!, Robert Holden writes:

Shift Happens! is about is about personal alchemy and inner transformation. Some people “go” through life; and other people “grow” through life. Shift Happens! celebrates your unlimited potential to grow, blossom, and evolve—in spite of everything. It is a book of hope.
After reading this book, I would agree. Shift Happens! is, indeed, a book of hope.

Weaving together story after story, many taken from patients that he treated in his role as a psychologist and happiness coach, Dr. Holden teaches heart-warming stories of hope and healing. I truly felt a “shift happening” in my spirit as I read this beautiful book.
This book is also a fast read with easy-to-understand concepts.

If you want to be enlightened and entertained at the same time, you need to read Shift Happens! While you’re at it, use the link below to buy one (or more) as Christmas gifts for loved ones. Spread the “shift” around!

I have received a copy of Shift Happens! for purposes of my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own, and I was not paid for giving a positive review.

Ditch the Doldrums: 9 Keys to Health and Happiness in the New Year

Ditch the Doldrums: 9 Keys to Health and Happiness in the New Year
by Mark Allen and Brant Secunda

Adapted from their bestselling book, "Fit Soul, Fit Body"

Are you stressed-out, overweight, overworked, uninspired, or plagued by negative emotions? Don't worry -- anyone can achieve health and happiness by trying out some new behaviors and attitudes, and working at it step-by-step. Here are nine ways to achieve a fit body and soul in 2012.

Key #1: Balance your responses to the six types of stress. Chronic stress produces high cortisol levels that don't go away. Chronically high cortisol will make you sick, physically and emotionally. Stress can come from multiple sources including these six: negative emotions, too little sleep, poor diet, overwork, toxic chemicals, and inflammation. The antidote for stress is balance. Look at each of these six stress triggers individually and work on finding small ways to reduce excesses and achieve more balance in each area. Seek more laughter, calmness, and clarity in your life.

Key #2: Quiet the mind. Ignoring external chatter and focusing on one thought or a single repetition is an extremely effective tool for dissipating emotional stress and helping shift negative thoughts. Learning to quiet your mind also helps to reduce cortisol levels in your body and increase DHEA, a feel-good hormone that promotes feeling of serenity. Quieting your mind can help you sleep better, eat more healthfully, and keep work and life pressures in perspective. One of the best ways to quiet your mind is to exercise, especially outside.

Key #3: Transform fear, anger, and jealousy. Good thoughts lead us to incredible awareness and experiences. Olympic athletes know this, which is why they psyche themselves up before a big event. Each day brings personal "Olympic moments"--for instance, an important meeting, a big workout, a tough but necessary talk with a friend, or a commitment to a daily spiritual practice. Fear, anger, and jealousy hinder our optimal performance. Bite off a smaller chunk of tasks that seem overwhelming. Get perspective on the real significance of your troubles and reactions by being out in nature. Accept the fact that challenge is normal and life is not controllable.

Key #4: Reconnect with the spiritual world of nature.

Who hasn't been touched by a rose in bloom or trees coming to life in the springtime? Having a sense that you and Mother Earth have a special relationship lets you know that everything is as it should be, which makes our souls happy. The more you connect to nature, the more open you will be to its wisdom and calming influence.

Key #5: Honor yourself. Self-love is the best way to honor yourself, and the most immediate tool you can use to fortify yourself against negative emotions like fear or self-doubt. Learning to honor and love yourself instantly transforms "need" into "peace." One of the factors that eats away at self-love is boredom--boredom with work, boredom with your own repetitious behaviors, boredom with life. Try to find what's new in the old; seek out new ways of thinking and behaving. Draw strength, support, and affirmation from community.

Key #6: Know and set the quest. To get somewhere, you first have to know where you want to go. What physical goals are you striving toward? What kind of person do you want to become? Having these answers sets your intentions, helps focus your efforts, and provides you with tangible ways to measure the results. Set small goals. Set yourself up for success; for example, schedule your workouts at a time when you'll be most likely to do them. Turn your attention away from negative thoughts.

Key #7: Live what you ask for. Asking for a healthy soul but choosing unsupportive friends will only prevent you from finding peace. Asking for a fit body, but eating junk foods, will only sabotage your own success. Surround yourself with actions, thoughts, and people who will empower you and allow you to achieve your personal success.

Key #8: Slow down to get faster. In the modern world, most people feel they must push their bodies and souls to the limit to make any gains in fitness, or in life. Slowing down allows your body to run more efficiently. Apply small focused changes that are gradual versus intense.

Key #9: Invite your inner cave man to the table. Our bodies weren't built to withstand the rapid changes we've witnessed in our food industry. The hunting and gathering we once did has turned into drive-throughs, super-sized meals, and chemically laden foods our organs don't have the ability to use or process. Eating the right amounts of carbohydrates, fats, and protein based on ancient genetics keeps you from eating either too little or too much, both of which cause us to hold onto unwanted and unnecessary body fat. Drink lots of water and eat whole, unprocessed foods.

Spiritual Gifts for Christmas

Spiritual gifts are a wonderful way to say Merry Christmas to a friend or a family member. But what kind of Christmas gift should you give? That depends. I normally list about 5 books that I recommend, but I know that not everyone likes to read.
So…

I will recommend 3 spiritual CDs or programs that I have personally listened to and I think they are great. If you would like to buy of these spiritual gifts for someone—or even for yourself—please order through the links below. As I am an Amazon Associate, I get paid a small commission and you would be helping to support my blog.
3 Spiritual Gifts for the Holidays

Living a Life of Inner Peace – Eckhart Tolle
This CD is a recording of a live presentation by Eckhart Tolle and I absolutely love it. I have listened to this CD several times, and I always get something new out of it. This CD is informative to both those new to Tolle’s teachings and to those wholly familiar to his teachings. Throughout it all, Tolle’s warmth and humor shines through. He is a great speaker and what he has to say is truly enlightening.

Getting in the Gap – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
This is a book and CD set from the Father of Motivation, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. The book explains “getting in the gap,” which is the space between your thoughts where all miracles are born. The CD takes you on an exercise to help you get into the gap. I thoroughly enjoyed this journey.

Meditations for Meditating – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
“Meditations for Meditating” is a CD adjunct to his book, “Manifest your Destiny.” Indeed, this is one of the many spiritual gifts that keep on giving. On this CD, Dr. Dyer leads you in a morning and an evening meditation, using the sounds of creation. I won’t tell you what these sounds are (I don’t want to spoil it for you), but soon after I started meditating with these tapes I experienced a huge synchronicity!

So order of these spiritual gifts this Christmas—or any other time—and let me know what you think!

Book Review: The Angel Therapy Handbook

I’ve always known about angels, guardian angels, and Archangels. But I had never paid much attention to angel communications, angel rescues, and the like. Not surprisingly, then, I had often skipped right past Doreen Virtue as a possible “find” on my spiritual reading list. Boy was I wrong.
The Angel Therapy Handbook is wonderful. While reading it, I felt as though Ms. Virtue was my personal coach, showing me how to set up my own angel therapy practice.

She starts by describing the purpose of angels in general and your guardian angels and Archangels in particular. One reason that I had never spoken to my guardian angels or Archangels is because I couldn’t see the reason to do so. When I prayed, I had always prayed to God. In The Angel Therapy Handbook, Ms. Virtue tells you why talking to angels is a great option that you should use in addition to praying to God.
Ms. Virtue then delves into all the various angel therapy methods, the same methods that she teaches in her workshops. Remember…Ms. Virtue also trains and certifies angel healers, the classes of which (I’m assuming) are not cheap. The point is this: in this book, you’ll probably learn most of what she teaches these students, and at a fraction of the cost.

Included in this book is also invaluable advice in how to pick your expertise, develop your professional reputation, set up an angel therapy practice, market your services, and start giving lectures, workshops, and speeches on your topic.
An added bonus is that this book is written in a clear, easy-to-understand style and is a fast read. After all, I read it in 2 days which probably amounted to about 4 hours.

If you want expert advice in talking to angels for yourself as well as for others, I highly recommend this book.

Give a Gift of a Spiritual Book this Holiday Season

Today is Black Friday and people are filling the shopping malls in search of the perfect deal on the perfect Christmas gift. The current headlines on this shopping frenzy is that one Los Angeles woman let loose with pepper spray, shots rang out in a NC shopping malls, and fights have broiken out  between Black Friday deal shoppers in many malls around the nation.
Wouldn’t you rather avoid all that?

You can if you do at least some of your shopping at Amazon.com this year. You can even maximum the return on your gift buying investment if you gift your Black Friday deals aficionado with a spiritual book (or 2 or 3).
Below are 4 books that I have personally read and think are fabulous. If you want to order them, or any other product through Amazon, please order through any Amazon link on this blog. As I am an Amazon Associate, I get a slight fee when you make a purchase through me. If you enjoy my blog, please help support it by making a purchase from Amazon through me.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

This is by far my favorite book by Deepak Chopra. In easy to understand language, Deepak outlines the 7 spiritual laws that, if followed, will make you successful in all areas. The highlight of each law is a list of action steps that you can take immediately to make your dreams a reality. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success can be read in one sitting, and it is so effective at helping you accomplish your goals. It is also so small that you can make it a stuffing stocker for Christmas. You simply cannot go wrong by purchasing this book.

Law of Attraction by Michael J. Losier
Law of Attraction by Michael Losier is another great book. Losier succinctly sums up the basics of the subtitle: The Science of Attracting More of What you Want and Less of What you Don’t, and he gives you clear instructions on how to do this. He also tells you how to find out what it is you truly want, as most of us don’t know what that is. This is another books that can be read in one sitting but one that you will return to again and again as you begin to manifest awesome things in your life. If you follow the directions in Losier’s book, this may be the last Christmas of financial struggle for you.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
If you have never read the classic book, Think and Grow Rich, you have to buy it. Long before the term “law of attraction” was coined, Napoleon Hill wrote about this then mysterious power. I think the book is more than 50 years old and it’s still in print for a reason—the principles outlined in this book work. This is a book that is also small enough to be a stocking stuffer this Christmas.

The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale
The Attractor Factor is another effective, easy-to-read book that will help you to manifest your desires. If you don’t know who Joe Vitale is, you must have lived under a rock for the past 10 years or so. Once homeless, Joe is now called “Mr. Fire” for his ability to motivate others. The Attractor Factor would be a great read for you and a great Christmas gift for a friend.

So order one or more of these books through the included links today. Read them for yourself. Give them as Christmas gifts. If you read any of these books yourself, please send comments on what you thought of them. I would be so interested to hear your viewpoints.

Merry Christmas!

The Gratitude Attitude

I just came across the wonderful piece about gratitude. It explains this process so well--which makes sense because it was given by Archangel Gabriel--that I had to share it with my readers. (Please excuse the funky formatting. I copy and pasted it and could not figure out how to remove this formatting.

AA Gabriel channeled by Shanta Gabriel

Gratitude is an attitude that can profoundly change your consciousness. When you live your
life in thanksgiving, it can affect your being at a biological level, training your mind
and body to live in a higher state of health and wellbeing.

The creation of new attitudes of thanksgiving in your life attract new streams of
light-filled energy to bless all that is honored in this way. When a blessing of
thanksgiving is made in any moment, it confers light-filled Divine energy upon the person
who sends it, as well as the situation being blessed. In challenging times it may seem
difficult to find something to feel grateful for. In spite of this difficulty, one way to
create a positive change in your life is to give thanks for what you have now. You can
even give thanks in advance for what you want to create. This allows a shift in your
consciousness so that you begin to attract new beneficial energy into your life.

When you find nothing else, you can give thanks for just being alive so your soul will
evolve. It is a gift to be in a human body and your body is a miraculous instrument.
Consider the fact that you have a heart within you that needs no conscious assistance on
your part to continue beating. Remember that you don’t have to tell your digestive system
to do its work.

All of these body parts are functioning in a wondrous Divine plan of perfection. When you
turn your attention to these systems within your body, when you begin to give thanks for
the incredible processes that continue 24 hours a day within you, they will function at a
higher level. Your focus of attention with gratitude and blessings will bring more light
and strength into your vital organs. For extra energy, consider filling these organs with
a healing color such as pink or green, which brightens them with Divine Light. For fun you
can then imagine a smile on a body part such as your liver or your heart. This will not
only bless your organs, it will lighten your mind.

Your Body and Science

Dr. Emoto in Japan proved that beautiful crystalline structures were created when words of
peace and love were placed on a glass filled with water. Imagine what grateful thoughts
and words of kindness can do to your body with its high percentage of water content.
Science has also proven that the cells of the body can become healthier when one has
thoughts and beliefs that are positive. The subconscious mind hears all the words you say
to yourself and interprets them as truth.

Athletes have used creative visualization as a powerful asset in their respective sports.
Studies have shown that the mind makes very little differentiation between the act of
physical practice and the mental visualization of a highly trained athlete. It is
extremely valuable to remember this and apply it to your own bodies. The act of giving
thanks for your wondrous, healthy, strong and flexible body can lead it to respond in
positive ways that assist in creating new healthier cells. Your body contains a Divine
Blueprint of perfection that can be called forward into present day experience. It begins
with giving thanks for your body right now, just the way it is, and adding the ideas of
what you would like to create within you.

When you give thanks for your mind that is clear and serene, for a brain that functions
with balance and precision, and especially when you give thanks for the Divine Light
continually empowering your thinking processes, there is a positive response within you.
Your gratitude will bless your mind and allow it to function at a higher level of
vibration. These simple acts not only change your mind, they inspire your emotions to
respond with delight. Imagine the idea of delight, and the thought of this, sometimes less
than familiar feeling, will spark a new level of inspiration in your being. Your
imagination is an influential tool of empowerment, and it can be used for ill or for the
good in your life.

Gratitude is the Attitude that will take you into your Heart

Consider the idea that your thoughts are like prayers reaching out into the Universal flow
of life. When you use your thoughts consciously, they become prayers that shift your
perspective so you can see a greater picture of what is actually going on in your life.
Prayers of gratitude are very powerful, and stimulate an increased flow of spiritual
energy into every situation. This force can create miraculous change for good in your
life. It may take a little effort to find something to be grateful for when you are
feeling down, but prayers of thanksgiving can help create a beautiful shift in your mind
when you do so.

It is vitally important for your future to nurture compassion for yourself, the mistakes
you made as you were learning about life, and forgiveness for the person you were in the
past. Be grateful for all that you have learned and all that you are. This act is a good
beginning for a peace filled and happy future. You can open new doors for tomorrow with
your grateful thoughts today.

No matter how it feels, you are never alone. You are here on earth to remember your
connection to the Spiritual Presence in your life. You are meant to live a happy, abundant
life with deep fulfillment. In order to do this, it is necessary to step out of the
challenges life presents and into the flow of God’s love, which will bring you more
creative solutions. There is one place where you can always go to feel the power of Divine
Love, and that is in your heart. Gratitude is the attitude that will take you into your
heart. It does not matter if you see nothing in your life for which to feel grateful, just
the act of giving thanks opens a door in your heart to allow Divine Love in.

Sometimes it seems as though prayer is difficult or there may be negative associations
with organized religion from childhood. Perhaps some suggestions for prayers of
thanksgiving can be useful. Here are some possibilities for prayers that may help you to
lift your thoughts and connect your heart to the One Heart within all beings:

Divine Presence,

Thank you for the abundant beauty of Nature that inspires me and offers the many blessings
to all who will receive. Thank you for helping me to honor your Creation in every way I
can.

Thank you for this day. Help me to see the blessings in my life, and learn the lessons
given to me to learn. Show me what I need to know in order to grow into a more kind and
loving human being, and take care of my responsibilities with grace and ease. Help me to
share the gifts you have given me in a way that adds more value to the world.

Thank you for my mind that is clear and expansive. Thank you for helping me to be open to
new ideas that can bring good into my life. Thank you for my amazing body that is strong
and flexible, and for the organs within it that are functioning with perfection. Bless
each cell and fiber of my being so that it is filled with your Divine Light.

Thank you for the forgiveness growing in my heart and the compassion within me for the
person I am right now. Help me to also have compassion and understanding for others as
they walk their own path in life.

Thank you for helping me to live my life in peace and harmony, and to be a radiant light
for Divine Love in the world.

For these and all my blessings, I say, “Thank You God.”

May this time of Thanksgiving fill your heart with a new awakening to the Loving Presence
within all things and bless every area of your life with pure Gratitude.

So be it. Be it so. Amen.

Celtic Jewelry for Christmas

Celtic Jewelry Christmas Gift Ideas

If you've been thinking of the perfect Christmas gift to get a loved one, you might think about Celtic jewelry. It is absolutely beautiful; the pieces are endowed with a lot of spiritual significance. If you order these from Amazon, please order through the links here as I am an Amazon associate and I will get a small commission. Plus you will be supporting my blog!

About the Celtic Peoples

I don't know much about the Celtic people, but I have always been attracted to their symbology as depicted in jewelry. (I wonder if I had been a Celt in a past life?)
What I do know is this: the Celts were tribal peoples that lived in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, Europe, and Asia Minor. Each tribe or sect of Celts had its own customs and spiritual beliefs so they are really hard to categorize. However, they all had a large number of mythis and deities (gods and goddesses).

So if you are  attracted to the Celts and to Celtic jewelry like I am, ask your hubby to buy you one of these this Christmas. I plan to ask my husband to do so.

The CelticTriquetra Knot

The Celtic Triqetra Knot has 3 interlocking knots that symbolize life, death, and rebirth. It also symbolizes the progression of the Goddess as virgin, mother, and crone. The Celtric Trigquetra Knot also symbolizes the forces of nature (air, water, and earth). For many cultures and spiritual tradtions (including Christianity) the number 3 is very powerful.

The Celtic Tree of Life
A popular celtic symbol is the tree of life. Indeed, this symbol is filled with spiritual significance. In the  Celtic Tree of Life, the roots symolize connection to the other world. (Note, too that the roots--our connection to the other world--are the foundation of the tree). The trunk symbolizes connection to the mortal world. The branches that point to the sky symbolize connection to the Universe. In short, the Celtic Tree of Life represents the entire mortal and otherwordly nature of humans.

Blue Topaz Pendant
This one does not have any spiritual significance that I know about. I only chose it because it is beautiful and because the blue topaz stone is December's birthstone. This would be a perfect Christmas gift. It would be even better if your beloved's birthday is also in December (like mine). HINT...HINT

This Thanksgiving: Start a Gratitude Journal

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s time to start a gratitude journal. All you need to get started is:

·         A regular notebook

·         A pin

·         Something to be grateful for (and all of us have many somethings to be grateful for).
Alternately, you can use:

·         A computer

·         Word Processing software

·         Something to be grateful for
I prefer to handwrite everything I’m grateful for in a notebook. It feels more like a journal that way.

Using a Gratitude Journal

Each day, start a new page in your gratitude journal (and date it). From morning until you retire for the night, list every positive thing that happens it your life. You should list both the big positives and the small positives.

For instance, getting an unexpected check in the mail when you are broke might be a big positive. Reading an inspirational quote from one of your Facebook friends, a quote that lifts your mood just when you need it the most, might be a small positive.
Nevertheless, list them all.

Benefits of Starting (and Keeping) a Gratitude Journal
Louise Hay is fond of saying that the Universe loves gratitude; the more you are grateful for what you have, the more the Universe gives you to be grateful for. I have found this to be true in my own life.

Starting and keeping a gratitude journal has many benefits:

-          It allows you to see evidence of a responsive, prosperous Universe.

-          You become aware of how much you have to be grateful for in your life.

-          You start experiencing more frequent (and more special) incidents from which to be thankful.

Oprah Winfrey has said that she has been keeping a gratitude journal for years, and look how it’s worked for her!
So this Thanksgiving, start a gratitude journal. Next Thanksgiving, read about all the astounding events that have happened in your life since starting this journal. I think you’ll be amazed.

Put these on your Holiday Shopping List

Thanksgiving is next week and the day after is Black Friday. Let the holiday shopping season begin! That said, I love to order a lot of my Christmas gifts through Amazon.com. It’s an easy, low stress way to get what I want without visiting countless stores and fighting the crowds.

Below is a list of my some of my recommendations of Spiritual related items you just have to add to your Holiday shopping list this year. I have personally read every book below, and I give all of them two thumbs WAY up. Please order through the links provided, as I am an Amazon associated. Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!

DEEP TRUTH by Gregg Braden

I am half way through reading the book, “Deep Truth,” by Gregg Braden and I am hooked. Gregg Braden has written another winner. This time, he writes about an “uncomfortable truth” not addressed by Al Gore…our planet is facing several crises, each of which could end life as we know it. Unless we wake up. Beautifully written in Braden’s inimitable style, this is a must read for the 2012 generation.

THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle
Of course, no spiritual library would be complete without the groundbreaking, “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.

A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle
This is another awesome work by Eckhart Tolle that you simply must add to your holiday shopping list!

THE DIVINE MATRIX by Gregg Braden
I was first introduced to the work of Gregg Braden through reading “The Divine Matrix.” I’ve been hooked on his books ever since. This is a great, awe inspiring book that you must add to your Christmas list and order today.

Book Review: Healing is a Choice

Healing is a Choice. Stephen Arterburn. Nashville: Thomas Nelson, Inc. 2011 454 pp

In his newly revised and updated book, Healing is a Choice,” Christian Minister Stephen Arterburn states, as the purpose of this book that he is going to:
“Use ten choices to help you pull out of the rut where you are living a life much different from the life God has called you to live.”

He’s succeeded brilliantly.
When most people think of healing, they think of physical healing. But there are many other types of healings—such as spiritual, emotional, and mental—that block us from our enjoying our lives to the fullest. Healing is a choice, Arterburn says, and it is a choice that each of us must make before we receive healing from any of our various afflictions.

Arterburn goes on to list 10 of these choices that we must make. I was enthralled with this book. This updated edition of Healing is a Choice includes a workbook that helps you to analyze the one or more choices that you have heretofore refused to make to be healed.
This book is an easy read and well written. Arterburn clearly knows that he’s talking about in this book. But he is also a Christian minister with a following…and his own radio show.

When I chose this book to review, I did not expect to be so pleasantly surprised. I am a Christian, but I consider myself to be more of a New Age Christian. Although I knew many of the biblical stories Arterburn related, it had been a long time since I had been confronted with traditional Christianity.
I guess I was a bit surprised by this, but not offended.

Anyway, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be healed from anything.

The Waves of 11/11/11‏

As we move towards the year 2012, we enter the vibration of 11/11/11, or the triple 11.

11 is a Master number. It is a demanding, yet also inspirational vibration. It is best represented by the 11th card of the Tarot; Justice, also known as the wheel of life, the wheel of fortune. Justice is the card that teaches us to weigh the conditions of the present with the decisions of the past. It is Karma.

Moreover, there are three 11s in 11/11/11. The number 3 is sacred. It is the number of the Trinity, Daughter, Mother, Crone, the Son, the Father, the Holy Ghost. It is also the number of the family, the extended family, and the community.

Even more astounding is the fact that, when you combine all three of the 11s, you get the number 33, which is another master number. As these two numbers come together on 11/11/11, the whole world vibrates under the influence of the 33.

Master number 33 is the number of courage and sacrifice for the healing of others. As the vibration of the 33 settles over out planet,we watch our young march in the street, demanding the simple right to work, to be able to build a future for themselves, their families, and their communities. We also watch the ripple effect of our president calling for equal taxation of the rich, for the good of the rest of our country.

If we look closer, we realize that this all carries us, like a turbulent ocean, into a possibly brighter future. It carries us into the year 2012, the vibration of 5, the number of freedom, decision making, and extreme change.

I pray, on this day and every day before us, that we remember the lesson of 11. And do not forget these lesson as we go forward; it is the choices we make today that will build our future in 2012.

11/11/11: A Numerologically Significant Date?

GUEST BLOGGER

 SERIITA

Numerology of 11/11/11
Christine Mattice asked me to provide my numeric perspective on 11/11/11. Because of the repetition of 11, this is a date many people are fascinated with. There are thousands of different interpretations on the internet and I offer visitors yet another point oSf view.

Sankofa Bird

Many years ago I purchased a Sankofa Bird, for me, the bird isn’t breathtaking but the symbolic meaning is. The Sankofa Bird is a mythic bird that flies forward while looking backward with an egg (symbolizing the future) in its mouth.

Sankofa is an Akan term that literally means "to go back and get it." Akan accept as truth, as should all humankind “the past illuminates the present and the search for knowledge is a life-long process.”

NUMEROLOGY

For that reason, I go back to November 10, 2011 before we look ahead to November 11, 2011. From my numeric perspective, these are both two very powerful days. I consider 2011 (2 + 0 + 11) a Universal Year 13 while other numerologists refer to 2011 (2 + 0 + 1 + 1) as a Universal Year 4, regardless of how you calculate, n 2011, 4 is the backdrop for all events worldwide.

11/10/11 is a Universal Day 7 and Calendar Day 10, a day when collectively whatever humankind has been seeking to usher in, visualize or make happen is close to completion. Universally we have reached a conversion point, if you add the numbers straight through 1+1+1+0+1+1=5 you’ll identify November 10, 2011 as a day of change, a universal shift.

November 10, 2011 is a day set aside for ALL humankind worldwide to individually pray rest and reflect before the transference begins. 11/10/11 is a day for each individual to prepare for the awakening, a new state of consciousness that can bring change for the betterment of the world.

11/11/11 is a Universal Day 8 and Calendar Day 11, an invigorating, inspirational and in theory, a conceivably karmic day where somewhere in the world there could be unexpected coinciding events that require clear-thinking before making final decisions. If you add the numbers straight through 1+1+1+1+1+1=6 you’ll identify November 11, 2011 as a day for perhaps shocking happenings that either benefit societies highest good or limits, worsens alliances, international diplomacy, beliefs (particularly religious convictions), healthiness, political images, or brings changes in the world (earth).

November 11, 2011 is a day of awakening, a day for the collective worldwide to unite in peace and love, to join forces and create balance with the purpose of  withstanding the pressures in 2012. It’s a day set aside to pool resources so that across the world we can strengthen the material plane, economic conditions. Through efficiency, the use of good judgment, and regulations we can bring changes that will bring an end to the current conditions, and give the citizens a new lease on life by resurrecting the economy.

Many folks are marrying on 11/11/11. 6 also represents matrimony and 11 also represents partnerships, the joining together of two separate individuals, or the merging of two separate philosophies, plans, or businesses.

Do you Approach Prayer as a Trick or a Treat?

On this Halloween day, it occurred to me that many of us approach prayer as a trick or treat venture.

On the “Trick” side:
What is the trick to successful prayer?

Will God give me what I so desperately need?
Should I pray all the time, begging him to answer my prayer?

Will more faith turn the key to the storehouse of God’s miracles?

On the “treat” side:

I love talking to my Source.

I pray not for more goodies but for more of a connection to my maker.

I view prayer as communion with God.

God is love and I always keep that in mind when I pray to God.

A Mixture Trick-or-Treat
I think most of us approach prayer with a mixture of that trick-or-treat feeling. However, I think it’s important to know that all you really need to do is ask God to help you to have more faith. Ask God to teach you how to effectively pray. Ask God to show you his love.

Remember…everyone that asks, receive.
